Overview
The Masai Mara is one of the best-known reserves in Africa and globally renowned for it's exceptional wildlife. The reserve is teeming with wildlife in every inch of it, be it millions of wildebeests, lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, cheetahs, leopards, gazelles, zebras, hippos and the famous crocodiles of Mara river.
Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant and it is for this reason, a visitor hardly misses to see the big five. Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart Nairobi at 6.30 am. A short stopover at View Point for sightseeing and photography. The Great Rift Valley View Point is a great wonder of the World; an entire circuit that stretches from the Middle East, passing through Africa and ending in Mozambique.
Afterwards, proceed to Narok town. The game drive begins at the Sekenani gate with attractive sites and landforms. Upon arrival at the camp, check-in and have lunch. Thereafter, proceed to the park for an afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is one of the most important wildlife conservation area in Africa and provides tourists with an authentic safari experience. Return to the camp, freshen up and relax.
Dinner & Overnight at the Camp/ Lodge.
Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve
Have breakfast, freshen up and prepare for a full day of activities. Upon arrival at the park, adhere to the formalities and set off in search of the great predators. On the plains, you will spot enormous herds of grazing animals, the elusive cheetahs and leopards hiding amidst the acacia boughs.
The “Great Wildebeest Migration,” voted as one of the “Seventh Wonder Of The World,” takes place annually from july to october when millions of wildebeests cross over from the Serengeti National Park, in search of new greener pasture. The Mara river crossing which is considered the climax of the Great Migration, is an event that takes you through a range of emotions; anticipation, heartache, excitement and so much more. The large herds of animals crossing the crocodile-infested river is a sight to behold.
Thereafter, have packed lunch in the wild and later proceed to a Maasai village. Unlike many other tribes in Kenya, the Maasai community are semi-nomadic pastoralists; they live by herding cattle and goats. Singing and dancing is also part of their daily life and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a memorable experience. Return to the camp, freshen up and relax.
Dinner & Overnight at the Camp/ Lodge.
Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve - Nairobi
Wake up call to have early morning tea or coffee and proceed to the park for a final game drive.
Return to the camp and have breakfast. Freshen up and check-out. A short stop over at Narok town for lunch and embark on the journey to Nairobi.
