Overview
The Kenyan section of the Great Rift Valley has eight lakes of varying sizes due to the depressions along it. Among them are Lake Naivasha and Nakuru. It has been said by scientists that about 10,000 years ago, Lake Nakuru and its two neighbor lakes; Lake Elementaita and Naivasha, formed a single deep freshwater lake, which dried owing to climate change, leaving the three separate lakes as remnants. All the three Lakes are in the same area, Nakuru City.
